As a family operated business based in the Kaipara, Northland, our team is committed to conducting our operations in a way that minimises our impact on the local and wider New Zealand and global environment.
Our team members are avid fishermen in the Wairoa River and Kaipara Harbour.
Protection of this habitat through diligent waste and environmental management is top of mind in every decision we make. We do not make single use plastic products. Our products are made from polyethylene which can be recycled or has been recycled. Our team values underpin the value we place on sustainability. We live it every day.
OUR COMMITMENTS
We are committed to:
01Design our products to be durable, hardwearing, UV stable and fit for purpose to avoid unnecessary replacement.
02Recycle 100% of our plastic off-cuts to avoid it going to landfill. Off-cuts are recycled and used in new product manufacturing.
03Collect product off-cuts from our customers and to use the recycled plastic in new product manufacturing.
04Buy recycled plastic for new product manufacturing from recycled plastic suppliers where we can.
05Ensure our employees are adequately trained and certified to ensure operational efficiency.
06Ongoing applications of LEAN manufacturing principles to optimize quality, minimize waste and shorten delivery times.
07Utilise LED factory lights and environmentally friendly factory ventilation
08Replacing chemical solvents with water-based solvents to clean our factory and our products.
09We have ensured our factory doorways and walls are stopped to prevent waste plastic from escaping outside. We sweep and vacuum floors throughout the day to collect scraping and off-cuts and dispose in allocated recycle bins.
